The first recipient was tramper Graeme Ferrier for his tireless and enthusiastic advocacy for public outdoor access at the top of the South Island. And the second to catch a fish was Hutt Valley Ranger Claudia Eustace, who organised contractors to clear gorse along a mapped but unmarked route that, now that it is clear, restores access to the ECNZ track on the east side of Hutt Valley.
