January 2017

Make 2017 your best year yet

January is traditionally a time to make resolutions, so tell us – what were yours? Maybe to get a little fitter? Have more fun? Do something for charity? Good news! We can help with all three.

We always need people like you to help raise money for the one in six people affected by a neurological condition. And there are so many ways to help. We have a brilliant line-up of challenge events for 2017, with many offering FREE registration if you sign up before 31 January (see below).

But we know doing a sporty challenge isn't everyone's cup of tea – and isn't always physically possible. That's why you can get involved in many other ways too: come along to one of our organised fundraising events, design your own event or challenge, or volunteer a few hours of your time to help us instead.

Pick your challenge!

Whatever kind of challenge you fancy taking on, we have it - from walks and treks to 5ks and marathons, from bike rides and 'tough' races to skydives! These are our top picks and have FREE registration if you sign up before 31 January:

Superhero Run: 14 May, Regent's Park
Get your cape on and enjoy the most fun run of them all! The spirit of the event is ‘taking part’ not ‘winning’ so you can run, jog or walk – you decide! Best of all, there are free costumes for every participant.

Vitality 10,000: 29 May, central London
Formally known as the BUPA 10,000, this race starts and finishes in The Mall and follows a clockwise route around the City of Westminster and the City of London.

Prudential Ride London: 30 July, London & Surrey
Ride London is our most popular cycling event − an amazing 100-mile event starting in Stratford, heading out into greenbelt Surrey and then back into central London for a thrilling finish.

Royal Parks Half Marathon: 8 October, London
This race is one of the most popular in London due to the beautiful scenery and the opportunity to run past the city’s most important landmarks.

Cycle India 2017: 16-26 November
Join the trip of a lifetime cycling through the rural beauty of Rajasthan. The route starts in the awe-inspiring Taj Mahal and finishes in the famous Pink City of Jaipur. One not to miss!

Skydive
The extreme fundraiser that is hugely popular − last year we had an 88-year-old skydiver raise money for us! Contact your local skydive company and get the ball rolling.

Get inspired by our complete list of all challenges for 2017.

Have a great night out with us!

We have some exciting new events on our calendar − a Wine Tasting Evening in March, which will showcase a selection of new and old world wines, and June sees a spectacular black-tie ball at The Park Lane Hotel. Our charity gig at UCL Student Union returns in April, and the annual lecture is also back in June. Watch our website and look out for the e-letters, which will have more details on all our upcoming events.
