Undergraduate Conference, Columbia Synapse
This year, on March 27, Columbia Synapse will be hosting a conference to dive into the intersection between patient-centered care and biomedical innovation. The theme of the conference is “Crossroads in Traumatic Brain Injury: From Bench to Bedside--and Beyond”, and it aims to elevate the voices of patients, caregivers, and community members through panels and presentations from keynote speakers, while highlighting the contributions of researchers and professionals working to improve life for individuals with TBI. We will also be joined by 15 student organizations from Columbia, Harvard, Rutgers, MIT, NYU, CUNY, and CCNY, creating opportunities to connect with the broader neuroscience and pre-medical community in the NYC area. While lunch will be provided for in-person attendees, the conference will be hybrid, with a Zoom option for all attendees from outside New York to join.
With your commitment to supporting students interested in medicine, biology, neuroscience, and/or psychology, we wanted to ask if you would be able to send information about the conference to your students and others who would be interested in attending the conference. Interested individuals can register using this link (https://luma.com/j1ys7j72), and I have also attached a flyer and agenda for the event. We are thrilled to host the conference and share this forum for patients, caregivers, researchers, clinicians, and innovators with a broader audience to strengthen community engagement and knowledge about TBI.

UCLA Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference
Applications for the 2026 UCLA Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference (PURC) are now being accepted! The application period will close on Monday, March 2rd, 2026 at 11:59PM PST.
PURC was created in 1992 by UCLA’s Dr. Elizabeth Bjork with the objective of creating opportunities for undergraduate research assistants to develop their presentation skills and share their research efforts with their peers and colleagues during a day-long event. In addition to fostering undergraduate professionalism, PURC has proven to be a meaningful and exciting forum for students from universities throughout the nation to communicate their research activities with one another. This is also a great opportunity to network and make connections with UCLA faculty!
The conference will be on Friday, May 8th, 2026 in Pritzker Hall at UCLA and will showcase undergraduate psychology research projects through poster sessions and 5-minute data blitz sessions. We are looking for high-quality abstracts written by undergraduate researchers. The application and more details are available at https://www.psych.ucla.edu/undergraduate/special-programs-and-events/purc/applying-to-purc/. Make sure to speak to your faculty mentor and/or graduate student advisor soon about submitting an abstract for this year’s conference!
Please read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or email purc@psych.ucla.edu with any questions.”
