Is my packaging recyclable in Australia?

Originally funded and scoped by the APC, brought to you by Planet Ark and GreenChip, the Packaging Recyclability Evaluation Portal (PREP) tool has been specifically designed to answer this question, commonly asked by brand owners and packaging designers alike. The tool is easy-to-use, and can help provide confidence in the recyclability of various packaging items and composites. Planet Ark is hosting a free webinar to provide more information on the tool, and how you can access it, at 10:00am on the 18th of June. Register for the webinar via the online registration form.

Barossa Wine Industry Group

Are you a winery the Barossa region? (If yes, we’re jealous!)

Henschke is in the process of setting up a regional group to help foster discussion and collaboration in the wine industry. Tim Hackett is looking for others to collaborate with in; creating opportunities to improve waste management practices, improving access to systems and software, sharing ideas and approaches, and promoting the sustainability achievements of the collective group and the region.

If you are interested in being part of this group please contact Tim at Henschke: tim@henschke.com.au

The APC is keen to support this group and other similar collaborations as they evolve. Contact Brett Giddings for further info.

The APC audit is coming soon

To safeguard the integrity and accountability of the APC and its signatories annual audits are carried out with a random selection of signatories that reported on their 2014 activities.

All signatories should now have clear and accurate data reflecting their reported activities should they be randomly selected for audit this month. Many organisations have used the 2015 Data Collection Template as reference to what evidence may be needed and a way to keep all their data in the one place. Our tailored Audit Ready Guide will help describe the process in more detail, and the resource Evidence Requirements for Audits provides more examples of appropriate evidence that can be used in case of audit.

Those randomly selected will be contacted in the coming weeks. The APC Member Services Team are here to support those selected and as always, they can be contacted anytime via email or via phone (02 8249 4049).
