Resident Research Awards

Our April meeting is our annual James R. Lyle Resident Research Awards presentation. Mr. Lyle served as the executive director of the RCMS from 1978 until his passing in 2007. He was very dedicated to organized medicine. This year marks our 6th year of these awards in his memory.

This will be a CME eligible program.

Do you have information you would like to disseminate to your colleagues in our local medical community?

The RCMS Newsletter is a great place to start!

We are now accepting articles for placement in the monthly newsletter. The newsletter is published 8 times a year (Jan-May and Sept-Nov) and is distributed to the membership of the RCMS. Article topics can range from op-ed commentary to news relevant to the practice of medicine. Articles must be less than 500 words and will be published at the discretion of the Executive Director. Submissions are due by the 5th of the month. If you have any questions or wish to submit an article, please contact Stacie McGahee at smcgahee@medicalbureau.net or call the society office at 706-733-1561.

The RCMS has numerous delegate positions for the 2019 Medical Association of Georgia House of Delegates.

We need volunteers to fill these openings as soon as possible. If you may be interested in serving in one of these positions, please complete the form below.

The 2019 MAG House of Delegates meeting is scheduled for October 19-20, 2019 at the Marriott Evergreen in Stone Mountain.

MEETING MINUTES
March 26, 2019

• The meeting was called to order by the President, Dr. Bashir Chaudhary, at 7:40pm.
• Dr. Chaudhary welcomed the guests in attendance.
• Dr. Chaudhary called for approval of the minutes from the February 26, 2019 meeting. On motion duly made and seconded, the minutes were approved.
• Dr. Chaudhary thanked the Alliance for the decorations and introduced Mrs. Carolyn (Keith) SueLing who awarded door prizes.
• Dr. George Pursley presented the Board report.
• Dr. Chaudhary introduced Dr. David Hess who presented his lecture “Physician Shortage in Georgia and Graduate Medical Education.”
• There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:40pm.

Project Access continues to have a CRITICAL need for several specialties, including Urology, Gastroenterology, Neurology and Pain Management.

Even committing to treating just ONE patient will go a long way in reaching our goals and increasing the quality of life of that individual.
