Producing a good resume and a well written cover letter is a basic requirement for a successful job search. They play a critical role in helping employers understand who you are, what motivates you, and what you have to offer as a potential employee. The goal is to make your resume and cover letter so engaging that the employer cannot wait to invite you to an interview.

Spring 2021 Quarter Proof of Scholarship
Scholar Doc submission for Spring 2021 will start on March 15th. You will receive an email with instructions on submitting your Scholar Docs on March 15th. We are offering a Proof of Scholarship. You can use it to avoid being charged late fees due to late payments. If you would like to receive a Proof of Scholarship, please reach out to advising@oaklandpromise.org
Mentor-Scholar Activity #5
This activity is focused on Virtual Informational Interviews and require that you successfully log into your account with our partner organization, Students Rising Above (SRA). This activity has 3 Parts:
- Pre-work (SRA Resources ~ 30 min)
- Main Activity (Virtual Informational Interviewing ~ 60 min)
- Feedback Form (5 min)

Trans Day of Visibility
2021 marks the 12th annual celebration of the Trans Day of Visibility. Each year on March 31st, the world observes TDOV to celebrate the trans community and its resiliency and also raise awareness of discrimination and violence the community faces internationally. Internship Highlight: TurnitINTERN Summer Internship Program
Turnitin, a global EdTech company is hiring interns for this upcoming summer! This is a software engineering role. If you are attending a 4-year institution, majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar, and set to graduate by June 2022, then you are eligible. It is a 10-week program, running from June 21, 2021 to August 27, 2021. To apply, email your resume to internship@turnitin.com. A cover letter is not required, but its encouraged!
