From the CEO

At AlburyCity, we pride ourselves on delivering valuable, diverse and creative services and programs to our community – which is why our latest offering of a nationally significant artistic creation at a venue usually known best for sport is especially exciting.

Sustainability lessons lots of fun for little ones

The kids at Banjora Children's Centre have a new place to play while learning valuable lessons, thanks to the development of a rainwater tank, a dry creek bed and a hand pump. Funded by a grant from the NSW Department of Education, it allows the children to pump recycled water for playtime or to water plants, but only when water is available in the tank. Sustainability is a key part of Banjora's education program and learning has never been so much fun!

The way we were ...

This week we've dug deep to find a scene of Dean Street from the years gone by. This shot, taken around 1870, looks east along the main street near the intersection with Kiewa Street. The road was unsealed and the large four-wheeled wagon in the foreground would indicate parking spaces were not at a premium!
