Draft regs under the microscope
Fair Trading     
Draft National Co-operative Regulations in NSW have now been released for industry and public comment. Co-operatives are encouraged to offer their insights and provide comment on the proposed legislation on the NSW Fair Trading website. Deadline for comments is 7 January 2013.

What's happening here?
Borderlands Cooperative released a report on Tuesday on co-operative housing, investigating its economic, social and psychological benefits. The report was completed on behalf of the Victorian co-operative housing sector, with the purpose of advocating co-operative housing as the Victorian Government undertakes a review of social housing.

Smarter BuysWhat's happening over there?
A consortium of co-operative housing associations has won the Buy Better Together Challenge with a collective purchasing scheme Smarterbuys, which uses group purchasing power and existing sources of affordable credit to bring down the cost of white goods.
