Last chance to book for Spring Events

It's less than a week to go until the first Spring Event! We’re really excited about our fresh line-up of workshops this year. Here are just a few of the things you can hear about:

  • Connecting local people to local jobs (at Liverpool Spring Event on 27 April)
  • Working with partners on big projects (at Sheffield Spring Event on 6 May)
  • Planning for life after Big Local (at Birmingham Spring Event on 13 May)
  • Deciding whether a community building will earn its keep (at Newcastle Spring Event on 16 May)
  • Working out if you're making a difference (at London Spring Event on 27 May)

Health 'champion' initiative transforms lives 

Big Local residents in Bedford are celebrating the success of a trailblazing collaboration with a doctor's surgery. The project is connecting patients to life changing opportunities to build their support network, get more active, or access help with housing, money or employment issues that could be affecting their health.  Read more.

 
 

East Cleveland Villages Big Local attracts national bike race

130 elite riders started the international race season with a fast and tough ride through the East Cleveland villages in Yorkshire. Thousands of local people came out onto the streets to lend their support. East Cleveland Big Local is sponsoring the race for 3 years to engage the community and kick start a tourism strategy. Book now for the Big Local Film Festival

The first ever Big Local film festival is open for bookings! It's a fantastic opportunity for all 150 Big Local areas to come together and celebrate their achievements through film. It's in Birmingham on Saturday 1 July. Book your free place online before 30 May.
