Service Action: Putting the Finishing Touches on An Immaculate RS

Our 1971 911 E project has been going strong, and is now tantalisingly close to the chequered flag.

When last we spoke the car had just returned from priming and painting, and its motor and gearbox had been stripped, tested, refurbished and detailed in preparation for the next stage in its life.

From there the car was moved into our restoration facilities and handed over to our Scottish warrior, Stuart the Bruce. And with many years of experience in restorations, fabrication and the building of our track and rally cars, Stuart’s attentions produced an absolute masterpiece.

Autohaus Parts: Part of the Month

Valley Flood Alert!

Early Cayenne V8s have plastic coolant pipes in the “valley” of the V8 block.  With the passage of time and heat cycles, those plastic pipes can crack and leak.  Autohaus Hamilton Parts stocks a kit which replaces the plastic pipes with aluminium ones, as were fitted to later V8 Cayenne models, and the lads in the workshop have done enough of these conversions that they can do the job in their sleep.  (Not that they would ever do these jobs in their sleep, because apparently that contravenes some or other OH&S rules.)

If you have a pre-2007 Cayenne V8 which still has the plastic coolant pipes, it’s probably worth considering having this upgrade installed.

Give us a call, or send James an email on parts@autohaushamilton.com.au

Making of the Autohaus Hamilton/Jeff David Porsche SCRS Rally Model

When it came time for this year’s Porsche Club of New South Wales Concours we wanted to do something special to celebrate the event and give back to the people who support us.

And, since we find Jeff David and Grant Geelan’s hot 911 rally car quite inspirational, we thought that was a great place to start. So we put together a collection of photos and went to master model builder Warren Riddell with the aim of recreating that car in 1:43 scale.

He built a brilliant car, and this is how!
