NSC eUpdate Sept. 26, 2017

The September NSC Faculty meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 29 in NSC 228.

The College of Sciences Faculty Meeting with UCF President and Provost will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 in NSC 110.

UCF Vice President for Research Liz Klonoff will meet with College of Sciences faculty at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29 in NSC 110. Klonoff is reorganizing all aspects of UCF Research, including F&A, pre- and post-award support, resources and facilities, etc. Therefore, it is important that she hears what faculty have to say. We look forward to seeing you there.

Are you interested in attending the 2017 Dr. Valarie Greene King Diversity Breakfast at 8 a.m., Monday, Oct. 16? This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Carol Moseley Braun, the first female African-American senator. If you are interested in attending, please contact Jane Ingalls.

The UCF Grad Fair will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9 in the Student Union Pegasus Ballroom. The fair is an open house-style event that is free and to anyone interested in a UCF doctoral, master's, specialist or certificate program. Graduate Admissions and Financials staff will also be on hand to discuss the variety of admissions options as well as information on the fellowships, assistantships and financial aid available for students. Researchers at the University of Nebraska at Omaha are asking for your participation in their Ombuds office survey. This confidential survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will be available for only two weeks. You must be at least 18 years old to be eligible to participate in the study. 

Join Yan Fernandez, Ph.D., associate professor and observatory director of the College of Sciences Department of Physics, for a discussion about the recent solar eclipse at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Physical Sciences Building 160/161. A networking event will precede the discussion at 6:30 p.m. Please RSVP to attend.
