Rare Dementia Support stars handmade in purple glass by artist Sue King make beautiful Christmas decorations to hang on the tree or on festive windows. Sepp the Seahorse and baby make a wonderful Christmas present for any families expecting a new arrival in 2018. These are beautifully crafted by one of our regional coordinators and make superb heirloom toys. Dick Lingham's notelets are great presents or stocking fillers. Following his diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) Dick has found his creative outlet in painting and now attends a weekly art group. He has been experimenting and developing his individual technique for many years using a variety of materials. Special thanks to...Mark Bentley, Jo Smith and Professor Jonathan Schott ran the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon on 8 October in London's Hyde Park. They have raised over £4,400 between them so a huge congratulations and thank you is due to them! Calling all brainboxesOn 18 November 2017 at 8pm, Susie Shaw is organising the fourth annual Simultaneous Global Virtual Quiz. Last year she raised over £2,900 with this event and is looking forward to smashing her 2016 target! Why not plan a get-together at home and have fun fundraising while flexing your brainpower! Just answer the online questions and make a donation to RDS for every answer you get right. Dust off your pins!Why not put all that all that Bake Off knowledge to good use by holding a cake and biscuit sale this Christmas to raise funds for RDS. Whether your taste is tea and cupcakes or mulled wine and gingerbread, you can always ask your local cake shop or supermarket for donations to supplement the homemade goodies.
