    Nursing SCDN Degree Information Session

As you know, healthcare is a thriving industry and nurses are in high demand, especially now. Nursing is a stable profession with a good salary, flexible scheduling, lots of unique opportunities, and is consistently ranked as one of the most satisfying, gratifying and respected professions.  If you know PSU or non-PSU students (freshman-seniors or graduates) who may be considering the nursing profession, please encourage them to join us for this informal chat about the program. We are planning about a half-hour presentation and then ample time for Q&A. The Accelerated Second Degree Nursing Program is offered over four full-time semesters for 16 months. This program is open to students with baccalaureate degrees in all majors (assuming completion of established prerequisites), so, feel free to share this with all students. Cumulative GPA plays a significant role in earning a spot in this competitive major. Upon completion of the program, students may sit for the state licensing exam to be a Registered Nurse.

What is it? Diversity Dialogues is a Fall Career Days event, sponsored by Penn State Career Services, that bring employers and students together for an intimate discussion about diversity in the workplace.  This year we will be conducting Diversity Dialogues on a virtual platform, and we are adding a panel discussion with our employers!

Who Should Attend? All students are welcome to attend from all campuses, whether they are first-year students, graduate students, or somewhere in between.

Structure of the Event From 11am-12pm (EST) students and employers will engage in conversations about diversity in small breakout rooms.  We will then break for lunch and convene again from 1pm-2pm for the employer panel discussion – students are invited to bring any question to the discussion they wish to ask our employer panelists.  The event is free for students.

Student attendees who participate in both sessions will be entered to win a gift card ($200, $100, $50).

Registration will close on September 10, 2020, and it is required to participate: https://pennstate-csm.symplicity.com/events/Diversity20Stu

Students will receive the zoom link and further instructions in the weeks leading up to the event.

Do you belong to a student organization?

Career Services is hosting a Student Organization Challenge for this event. The organization that has the highest number of students attend will win $500 for their organization. The 2nd highest will win $300 and the 3rd highest will win $100. Clubs need to have members attend to win this challenge and not just register online.
