Open Day Video Competition

Entries due: 9.00am 1 August 2014

Help future Melbourne students learn what university life is really like by opening up your daily lives to them. The University wants you to share videos that capture an aspect of a day in your life as a University of Melbourne student so that we can show as much of our students’ experiences as possible.

The best and most creative entries will be compiled into a promotion video for Open Day. The owners of the videos featured in our Open Day video will each win a University of Melbourne varsity jacket.

In addition, the first 200 people to submit a video will receive a complimentary crepe voucher to be used at Carte Crepes.

The Competition

Dates: Saturday 26 Jul 2014, 6.30pm (Opening Night).
Sunday 27 Jul 2014: 2.30pm, 4.30pm, 6.30pm.
Venue: ACMI Cinemas, Federation Square
Register: Book online

The Competition will be screened for the first time in Australia this July, thanks to MSD Alumni, Linus Gruszewski and James Carter who negotiated to bring the film down under.

The Competition is a film directed by Spanish Architect, Angel Borrego Cubero. It presents a raw account of leading architecture practices, Zaha Hadid, Norman Foster, Jean Nouvel, Frank Gehry and Dominique Perrault, involved in an international design competition for the National Museum of Andorra.

The film will be screened as part of the Open House Melbourne program, in partnership with Melbourne School of Design and ACMI Cinemas. A panel discussion will follow the Saturday night screening, giving the audience an opportunity to delve further into the concept of the architectural design competition and the film itself. The panel will feature Angel Borrego Cubero alonside local experts.

Bookings are essential.
