The Great Southern Reef

The Great Southern Reef links thousands of highly productive, biologically inter-connected reefs across Australia’s southern coastline. 85% of the species found in these waters are found nowhere else on the planet.

In partnership with National Geographic, Ocean Imaging are producing a documentary, short film series and educational materials (aimed at year 8 and 9 students) to raise the public profile of Australia’s Great Southern Reef.

This exciting unit of work will focus on local marine life, ecosystems, threats and economic significance of this often overlooked reef system.

Ocean Imaging are seeking expressions of interest of high school teachers in southern Australia in the form of a short online survey. You can also sign up for updates on the Great Southern Reef Website.
