Kim Gallete: I, Kimberly Gillette, am the Director for the Center of Global Engagement at Minnesota State University Moorhead. NAFSA has been an invaluable resource for me during my 25 years working in international education. As my responsibilities changed, I looked to NAFSA and fellow NAFSA members for support and resources. I am fortunate enough to have experience with many aspects within international education and am eager to share my expertise and leadership to help NAFSA region IV continue to grow and serve professionals in the field. I am a member of the Association of International Educators Administrators, the FORUM on Education Abroad, and NAFSA: Association of International Educators, where I served
on the Region board and am a member of the Trainer Corps. I have held previous positions at the University of Minnesota Crookston and the University of Arizona. I hold a Master’s degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota.
Taylor Kinde: Taylor Kinde, Director of International Student Coordination at the University of Central Missouri has always had a passion for international education since she studied abroad, her junior year in high school, in Italy. Region IV Spotlight:Meet Shannon Ingleby of Kirkwood Community College. Shannon serves as the Region IV's Academy Chair. "A Little About Myself - I am the International Student Advisor at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA and have been here for about 3 years. I began my career in International Education while teaching and living in China for three years. Other prior professional positions include admissions at Adler University and international student advising at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. In my current role at Kirkwood, I serve as the PDSO,
specializing in F1 student advising, new student orientation and international admissions and recruitment. I hold an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University and a B.A. in Psychology from Central College. I am excited about being the Academy Coach because, when I was a new advisor to the field, I was mentored and given tons of support from my colleagues at IIT. I know that not everyone has a large team of other advisors to mentor them and I hope to provide that support. I think anyone who is new to the field of international education should join the Academy in order to expand their network of professionals, learn new perspectives and increase their expertise while becoming a valuable resource to their institution. I am excited to help newcomers to the field gain more confidence and find their
niche within international education."
