The Autohaus Hamilton Tour of the Hunter Valley

We had an absolute ball during the inaugural Autohaus Hamilton Tour of the Snowy Mountains. We made new friends, spent a fun weekend with old ones, and enjoyed the best drivers' cars in the world on some of New South Wales' most glorious driving roads.

In fact, it was so brilliant that we decided it was time to go on another Porsche driving adventure. And then we thought that we should probably just cut to the chase and organise three.

Our three Autohaus Hamilton Tours, in conjunction with Driving Adventures, will be held on the 22nd to the 24th of March26th to the 28th of July and the 1st to the 3rd of November, so save those dates!

First up - The Autohaus Hamilton Tour of the Hunter Valley! We're heading out to explore the great driving roads of the Hunter Valley on Friday the 22nd of March and then heading on to Bathurst, and we'd love for you all to come with us!

All the information you'll need can by found by clicking this link and you can book your place or ask us lots of questions by giving either Grant or Rob a call on (02) 9905 1455 or sending us an email on service@autohaushamilton.com.au.

Autohaus Sales Car of the Month

2005 Porsche 911 CARRERA S Coupe

This 997 Carrera S has had just two owners since new and was delivered by Porsche Centre Perth in April 2005.

We sold this car to its previous owner and have just traded it back on another 911, so we know it very well and are extremely confident in its quality.

It is in beautiful condition inside and out and is completely up to date service wise with the next yearly service not due until September 2013. Discs, pads and tyres are all well within spec also.

Autohaus Parts: Feel The Heat!

In the aftermath of Sydney’s hottest January for quite a while, you may not be thinking about ways of making your Carrera 3.2 warmer. We, on the other hand, just received our first shipment of SSI heat exchangers, and if you know about SSIs, you’ll know why they've got us hot under the collar.

First off, what are heat exchangers? In a watercooled car, the car’s interior is warmed using heat from the coolant.  Air is blown over a heater matrix, which is a small radiator to warm the car’s interior and its occupants.  Air cooled cars use heat exchangers, which are essentially boxes around part of the exhaust pipe.  The exhaust pipe heats up and heats the air inside the box, which is then channelled to the interior of the car.  (Note, it’s not exhaust gas that is being channelled to the interior.  Although that would be good and warm, there are significant problems concerning filling a car’s interior with exhaust gas.)

In an aircooled 911, the heat exchangers are built around the exhaust headers, which is the warmest part of the exhaust system.  SSIs have two Big Things going for them: the first is that they are a mild performance upgrade over the standard heat exchangers.  The second is that, being made of stainless steel (SSI stands for Stainless Steel Industries), they will last a very long time indeed.

If you'd like to take advantage of these Big Things, give us a call on  02 9905 1455, or send James an email on parts@autohaushamilton.com.au.
