Historic house relocated in Wayzata - BATC member Pillar Homes moved a 111 year old house this morning in order to make room for their new development. The home has some great history behind it and will continue to be a part of the Wayzata community in it's new location. Watch here >> 


Rate Rise in September?

The Federal Reserve dropped the federal funds rate to zero in late 2008. Never in their wildest imagination did they think that seven years later the rate would still be zero, but it may not be zero for much longer. Read more >>

Edina Looking at Inclusionary Zoning Policy

The city of Edina is exploring an inclusionary zoning policy that would require affordable units within new multifamily housing projects. The requirement would apply to any new multi-family project of 20 units or more requiring rezoning or other city approvals, 20 percent of units would be affordable.

In 2002 BATC led a legislative effort that amended the planning statute to allow for voluntary affordable housing agreements, however, the statute does not authorize inclusionary housing mandates. BATC will be monitoring the Edina ordinance as it moves forward. Read more >>

The Small Business Health Care Reform Act (HR2911) is making its way through the US House of Representatives. This bill would make life easier for many small business owners by allowing them to pay for employees healthcare costs through Health Reimbursement Accounts.
