Name the dog competition - £100 prize

Disability Services has purchased a Black Dog statue for the University, a campaign which aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and encourages people to seek help early, rather than suffering in silence. Once commissioned, our Black Dog will be sited at various different locations across the campus to maintain awareness. The only trouble is, he doesn't have a name.

We want to involve students and staff in raising awareness and helping change perceptions of mental illness - if you'd like to take part in this competition, email your suggestions for the dog's name to Disability Services ( by Friday 23 February - the winner will receive a £100 Amazon voucher.

Dundee goes to Malaysia

Dr Kim Dale (Life Sciences) and Professor Fordyce Davidson (Science & Engineering) have been in Malaysia with colleagues attending STEM events to promote Dundee and the work we do. They had a warm welcome at Epsom College where they gave a talk to students, showing them what we offer here, before visiting other schools to give further talks and host lab activities. They've also been busy meeting with alumni. Stay tuned to @dundeeuni on Twitter for more updates.
