Join the Donkey Awareness Walk for World Donkey Day

Saturday 8 May
Celebrate this gentle animal and create awareness around the abuse and neglect millions of working donkeys endure worldwide.
Bring along your two (and/or four) legged family members and meet like-minded people. All proceeds raised will provide essential veterinary care and education for owners to prevent the mistreatment of donkeys. Six donkeys will be accompanying walkers, alongside Janet Thomas, the founder of Animal Aid Abroad, and her dog Jack.

Last chance to view! Mundaring District Museum - Head for the Hills -Chidlow's WW2 Army Camps

Exhibition will close Thursday 6 May
Head for the Hills’, is a collaboration between Mundaring & Hills Historical Society, Friends of the Chidlow WW2 Camps and Heritage Detection Australia. Using artefacts recently retrieved from Chidlow’s former WW2 Army Camps, the exhibition highlights their role in defending Australia following Japan’s entry into WW2 in December 1941. With c. 50 000 troops passing through the Camps from March 1942 until June 1944, the significance of these camps in understanding the military heritage of WA is clear.

Mundaring Arts Centre - Farm to Table Fodder Baskets with Todd Israel

Thursday 20 and Thursday 27 May
Construct a robust basket using natural materials from your own garden along with hay and meadow fodder with contemporary fibre artist Todd Israel. You’ll learn fibre construction techniques in this two-part workshop inspired by gardening and agriculture.

Selected pieces will be showcased in an exhibition as a part of the Food for Thought project.
