The Greek Club

Name and position?
Ala Pietranik

Tell us about your business/organisation?
The Greek Club is a function centre with the ability to cater for large gala events, conferences and smaller meetings. Our banqueting and conferencing menus are modern Australian with Greek options if requested.

We are also a Greek Restaurant serving authentic Greek cuisine.

What is your role at your organisation?
Marketing Manager

What are your key skills and responsibilities?
I am the bums on seats person, my specialities are event marketing, conference marketing and digital media.

How many people work at your business?
We have a staff of up to 50 at any given time, with a large number of function's staff to take care of our guests.

What is your favourite place in the precinct?
I absolutely love Lychee Lounge for a drink and often pick up a great book from The Avid Reader book store. One of my favourite things to do is to sit on the fake grass pods in front of the Brisbane Eye and watch the people go by.

What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
We are one of the longest establishments in the 4101 precinct, while we serve incredible Greek Food, we also host and cater events of all shapes and sizes. Our chef’s menu is fresh, modern Australian cuisine. Our event's managers have over 10 years experience in the business and always deliver above and beyond.

What is something people wouldn’t know about your business?
We have the largest parquetry dancefloor in SE Queensland. We also have a take-away bottle shop.

What has recently happened at your organisation?
We launched a brand new membership and loyalty program. Members collect points for dining at the Odyssey Tavern which can be used as discounts for future meals. Members also go into the draw for dining vouchers and other giveaways.
Its free to join for the first 12 months. You don’t have to be Greek to join our family!

What have you learnt lately?
I've learnt that voice recording for radio advertisements isn't as easy as it would seem. Apparently not everyone is blessed with the voice of Morgan Freeman.

What do you hope to achieve in your industry?
We want to be known as one of Brisbane’s premier conference and function venues with a unique edge.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by people with vision, who are unafraid to think creatively and push the boundaries of the norm. I love people who never say die and always strive to learn and improve.

What are your words of wisdom?
Never take the same path twice! Keep trying new things. that is the best way to learn about yourself and the world.
That and eat Kale.
