ExLab: Digital Furniture Fabrication Exhibition

The ExLab: Digital Furniture Fabrication exhibition showcases furniture pieces designed and made by MSD students that focus on digital fabrication and computational design processes as a means to incrementally innovate known making techniques and drive design processes.

Each furniture piece explores a different material, technique or process of making such as fabric formwork, panel beating, slip casting or sheet folding.

The Architecture and Building Association (ABA) is hosting this presentation and Q&A with Fender Katsalidis Architects.

Join Katie Miller and Ciara D’Alberto of the internationally recognized Fender Katsalidis Architects for a discussion of architectural duties/roles and explore options for career progression.

Yenching Scholars Program Information Session

Established by the Yenching Academy of Peking University, the Yenching Scholars Program provides outstanding scholars with the opportunity to pursue a one-year, interdisciplinary Master of Art degree in China Studies.

In this session, Associate Dean of the Yenching Academy John L. Holden will guide you through the scholarship and provide you with insights on how to be successful in your application.

Afternoon tea is to follow the presentation.

A recording of the event will be uploaded onto the Melbourne Scholarships website for those who do not attend.

ABP Building Access

In order to access the Melbourne School of Design building and/or the Baldwin Spencer building outside of normal business hours, students must read and acknowledge the terms and conditions set out on the Building Induction web page (login required).

Upon successful completion of the Building Induction by eligible students, student access to ABP Buildings will be provided from 7am - 11pm, Monday to Sunday.  Please note that access make take up to two working days to be activated.

Building Access and your Student Card

  • You must have your student card on you when you are in any ABP Buildings (and anywhere on campus)
  • You will be required to present your student card to Security staff if asked to do so (if you refuse you will be asked to leave)

Tobacco-free campus

This is a friendly reminder that staff, students and visitors are prohibited from smoking on University property, except for those areas established as designated smoking areas.

What will happen if I smoke on campus outside a designated smoking area?

You may be politely reminded of the University's policy and the location of the designated smoking area.

Those persistently breaching the policy may be subject to action through student discipline procedures, staff misconduct procedures, and/or a request to leave the campus.
