Dear Parent of a Fox or STHM student, Earlier today, President Richard Englert announced a suspension of in-person classes for the remainder of the fall semester. For you and your child, I know this was disheartening news, and I echo President Englert’s sentiments when I say that we had hoped to offer our students the high-quality, in-person educational experience that is a hallmark of Temple, the Fox School and STHM. Now, more than ever, our students need the support of our school’s dedicated faculty and staff members. I want you to know that we are here. When your child committed to Temple, we became their partner. Whether classes are held virtually or in-person, our commitment remains the same. We are their partner, and we will be with them every step of the way. Virtual learning requires increased patience, adaptability and diligence. Thankfully, these are our specialties. Prior to COVID-19, we believed the Fox School and STHM were already leaders in the area of online learning. Now, we know that is the case. All of our services are still available online through the Center for Student Professional Development (CSPD), advising and more. We will continue to help your child grow as a professional, work towards securing an internship position and supporting their career. If you need anything or have questions, feel free to reach out to myself or any of our faculty and staff members. Prior to the start of the semester, the university unveiled the slogan, “We’re in this together, so we can be together.” I think that is especially apropos today. Even in a virtual environment, we’re still together. We’re still invested in your child’s future. This is true today, and this will be true for the entirety of their tenure as a Temple student. Warm Regards, Ron --- |
