Dementia Awareness Week, 14-20 May

This Dementia Awareness Week, between 14 and 20 May, the Alzheimer's Society is asking everyone across the UK to unite against dementia.

We'd like you to join in and organise events to raise awareness of lesser known forms of dementia too. You could ask your local cinema to do a screening of a relevant film; invite friends and family for a coffee morning; plan a cake-sale or fun-run at your workplace or school; or you could take on a personal challenge.

Download a fundraising pack here or get in touch to discuss ideas. We're here to support you all the way with any fundraising you may wish to do.

And don't forget to share our donations page, bit.ly/RDSfund, whenever you get the chance.

A lasting legacy

One way to help the future of Rare Dementia Support is by leaving a gift in your Will. We are holding a legacy event in Queen Square, London, on Monday 8 May  from 3-5pm, and if you would like to learn more about this area of giving, please email Brooke to attend.

The event offers an opportunity to learn more about our work, receive expert advice on what you should consider when writing your Will, a question and answer time with our speakers and lastly, to enjoy some light refreshments whilst meeting some of the team.

Cheer on our champions

This weekend, it's the Virgin Money London Marathon, one of our biggest fundraisers! Join us on Sunday at the 25-mile mark and help us cheer on the runners. Email Laura for more information or follow @BrainAppeal on Twitter and tweets on the day will show you exactly where we are located.

We have three runners taking on this challenge for Rare Dementia Support - Mark Bentley, Jo Smith and James Westcroft, who between them have already raised over £10,000.
