Light Bites: Digital Badging

We are pleased to announce we are offering accreditation in the form of a Light Bites 'Digital Badge'.

Light Bites is a series of workshops where we explore the use of digital to support our teaching. We explore the technology available to us from the perspective of teaching and learning.

This badge will recognise those who have engaged with our workshops and employed Light Bite Learnings in their teaching practice.

To achieve accreditation, you will need to attend at least three Light Bite Workshops and have experimented with 'Light Bite learnings' in your teaching practice. We ask you to present your experiments and experience at a peer-assessed Light Bite show and tell. Successful participants will achieve a Light Bite Accreditation Digital Badge.

Light Bites: 'Saying it Out Loud' is a series of workshops where we explore online presence.

Facilitated by theatre professional and actor Sonia Ritter, we deconstruct and consider how we engage students through a video stream; how we can use; our voice, our posture, movement and space as we engage our students in learning. And how we can better care for ourselves in the process.

Light Bites: 'Say it Out Loud' runs weekly. Find out more here and search for SAYING.

It recognises the expertise, motivation and enthusiasm of lecturing

HEA - more details

My name is Dr Juan Caldero. I have been lecturing at CU for around 10 years. At this current moment I am a permanent member of the SINO-UK International programme between the Coventry University (CU) and South West University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL) in Chongqing (China). I am lecturer in EAP and ESAP at SWUPL University.

When did you get your Senior Fellowship (SFHEA)? Due to COVID19 I was evacuated from Chongqing from February to September 2020. I took this time to finally start my application for the SFHEA. I successfully achieved the SFHEA in 2020.

What do you learn from your experience as an assessor? This qualification is extremely important within academia because it recognised the expertise, motivation and enthusiasm of lecturing at Coventry University.
