Phishing and suspicious emails

Fake emails targeting new or returning students are more frequent at this time of year, especially those claiming to be from Student Loans Companies. Help to support our students and yourself by advising caution at all times. Read more about how to protect yourself and spot the signs in this Action Fraud post, which highlights a recent scam designed to steal the personal information of students across the UK. If any of your students have received this and clicked the link, they should follow the post instructions to report it and also let IT know in the usual way

30 miles apart...

Meet the source of the recent Kirkcaldy campus network woes - damaged dark fibre all the way back in Dundee's City Centre. A power line buried in the pavement of Commercial Street exploded breaking the cable ducts next to it. It only took Vodafone 9 hrs to repair once they arrived onsite.

Box changed, did you notice?

A new interface was released to Box on Fri 08 Sep. Keyword-less search lets you find what you're looking for in record speed. Plus, an all-new viewing experience puts the spotlight on phenomenal content like 3D and 360° images, as well as HD and 360° video. Watch the overview video.
