1. ASF in Germany: 7 more cases confirmed in wild boars, as measures implemented to combat the virus in Germany

New cases of African Swine Fever have been confirmed in Brandenburg, Germany; locations were all within the designated endangered area. Measures are being consistently implemented in the state of Brandenburg.

2. New patient count in onion outbreak released by Canada; while no new cases in the US for 2 weeks

To date, there have been 506 confirmed cases of Salmonella Newport illness in Canada linked to a Salmonella outbreak associated with onions; a total increase by 49 people since the last update on August 31st. Officials in the U.S. have not posted an update since September 1st.

3. Mushroom poisoning behind a third of outbreaks in China

According to a study, data reported to the National Foodborne Disease Outbreak Surveillance System from 2003 to 2017 shows poisonous mushrooms were the most common cause of outbreaks in China during a 14-year period.
