November at Cove ParkOur European and Translation residency programmes are centre stage this month, bringing together artists, makers, designers and writers from Brazil, France, Norway, The Netherlands and the UK. Scroll down for details of two special public events taking place this month to mark these programmes: the first at the Alliance Française Glasgow on Thursday 7 November will focus upon our European Residency Programme; the second at Cove Park on Saturday 16 November marks Translation Week. We are delighted to announce that Cove Park has been awarded funds from The Garfield Weston Foundation to support the organisation in 2020, our twentieth anniversary year. At such an exciting moment in Cove Park's development this award is wonderful news and we look forward to sharing details of our plans for 2020 in the near future. Cove Park at the Alliance Française GlasgowCove Park's dedicated European Residency Programme was launched in February this year. Working with 8 partners in Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden, Cove Park is welcoming artists from these nations throughout 2019 and 2020. To mark this programme, the Alliance Française Glasgow is hosting Cove Park on
Thursday 7 November, from 6 - 7.30pm, for a special event focussing upon the aims of the European Residency Programme and introducing the work of the participating artists. The event will be introduced by Lauren Dyer Amazeen (Chair, Cove Park) and Nathalie Korkmaz (Director, Alliance Française Glasgow). The artists taking part are: literary translator Ghislain Bareau (France/Belgium), Klaas Burger (The Netherlands), poet Jeda Pearl Lewis (Scotland), visual artist Emmie McLuskey (Scotland), visual artist Eva Medin (France) and songwriter/maker Lillian Samdal (Norway). We are grateful to all our European partners, the Alliance Française Glasgow and to British Council Scotland and Creative Scotland for supporting this programme. Please join us to

Translation Event: Public ReadingWe are delighted to invite you to a public reading at Cove Park to mark our second Translation Week organised in partnership with the National Centre for Writing and Publishing Scotland. Join us on
Saturday 16 November, from 3-5pm, to hear the participating translators read from their work, and meet translators and translation professionals in an informal setting. The participating translators include: Kari Dickson, Polly Barton, Jozefina Komporaly, Jozef van der Voort, Zoë Perry, Katherine Mendelsohn, Ayça Türkoğlu, Stephanie Fernandes and Ghislain Bareau. The Scotland + Venice Scottish Tour
Belmont Filmhouse AberdeenTickets are now available for the final screening of Charlotte Prodger's acclaimed new work SaF05 as part of the Scottish Tour of Scotland + Venice 2019. This screening will take place Belmont Filmhouse Aberdeen on Thursday 21 November at 6.30pm. We are delighted that curator Eoin Dara will introduce this screening, part of the Scotland + Venice Scottish Tour of
SaF05. Eoin is an Irish curator based in Scotland working as Head of Exhibitions at Dundee Contemporary Arts. This Tour runs in parallel with the current presentation of SaF05 at the Venice Biennale. The event will begin with a screening of the short film The Making of Scotland + Venice, by Martin Clark. Tickets are free and can be booked directly via the cinema. Subsidised Independently-Funded Residencies We are pleased to offer subsidised independently-funded residencies during December 2019, January and February 2020. We welcome proposals from UK-based and international artists (individually or in groups) working in any creative discipline who would benefit from time, space and creative exchange at Cove Park. Residences are open to individuals or groups of up to nine people and are 1 week, 10 days or 2 weeks in length. Hands-On Cove ParkHands-On in November offers workshops for both primary and secondary school pupils. This month's Saturday Studios on 30 November will be led by former residents and visual artists Anne-Marie Copestake and Lauren Gault. Lauren has also devised a special Festive Studios for families on 7 December. These workshops are free and are a wonderful opportunity to try something new.
