From the Director’s Desk
We sure had a lot of drama at school this week! Fortunately, it was the good kind! The World Language program on Wednesday filled our senses with multiple languages through song, dance, poetry, and drama. We heard Russian, German, French, and Spanish (you’ll have to wait for Navruz to get the Tajik performances). Our MS and Secondary students wowed us with art set to music combined with technology. Then, on Friday night, performers at our annual QSI Dushanbe’s Got Talent show wowed the audience with singing, dancing, poetry/rap readings, and instrumentals. We are a very talented bunch! I hope you were able to enjoy these fabulous
presentations!
I want to take a moment to share updated safety and security information for our school. We practice safety daily in the form of rules for playground activity, emergency drills of various sorts, and safety during our transitions between buildings. We also have security in mind for our facility as well. We have 24-hour guards at each of our entrances and cameras connected to video monitors throughout our campus. Over the winter break, thanks to a grant from the State Department of the United States government, we were able to improve our security with a variety of enhancements including security window grills, locks, and improvements to our closed circuit television system. We greatly appreciate the support of our extended school community in helping us keep our most important assets, our
students, safe!
Also during break, two of our buildings were outfitted with central heating. Our other two buildings will be receiving this cost-saving and effective heating system soon as well.
Speaking of weather, please be sure to read the note in this week’s newsletter about cold weather and dressing properly. I know that it is hard to think that it may again snow considering the absolutely beautiful weather of this weekend, but it will. So, thank you Mrs. Horton for reminding us about this!
School portrait photos are THIS WEEK! Please check out the schedule in this week’s newsletter. We will take photos even if your child is not “dressed in their best.” We use these photos
in the yearbook. The photographer has told us that these photos will be available for purchase by families (let’s hope that this is true this year – it is a different photographer). More information will follow on this.
I hope you are out and about enjoying the blue sky and fresh air. See you on Monday!
