Our middle and high schoolers will be performing this "Faustus" tale for audiences 11-years-old and above. Much of the show will be done at low light levels, even complete darkness to start, so it is not suitable for younger children, especially considering the mature plot. Like other "Faustus" literature, it tells the story of a man who sells his soul for power. In this case, he becomes an invincible gunfighter in the Old West. A Greek-style chorus using rhymes and rhythms will move the action along. Preschoolers Winter Concert There will be a concert for our 3 and 4-year-old classes on December 5 at 11 AM. The theme will be animals, and it is hoped the children can have some clothing items that suggest they are an animal (other than a human). A complete costume is not needed, just a few touches. For example, with parent's permission, we could add a bit of face paint, like noses and whiskers. The songs will not be the typical winter songs; for a change, they will all be about some sort of animals/creatures on our planet. Elementary Winter Concert On Friday, December 7th at 6:30 PM, the 5 to 11-year-olds will be presenting, "On the Radio!" a collection of music hits, mostly from contemporary culture. They selected the songs themselves, mostly very successful songs one might hear "on the radio," hence the title. All classes will contribute to the more than a dozen hits, with each class taking turns as the main vocalists. Other classes will dance, sing the choruses and play some instruments. Each class needs to decide what main color they will claim for their clothing to be worn at the concert. The idea is to create a rainbow around the Great Hall! Additionally, audience members will be able to tell what class a performer comes from, due to the singer's clothing color.
