FESTIVAL SEASON ARRIVES IN SOUTH BANK

Le Festival (7-8-9 July) and La French Week (10 – 16 July)

Australia’s biggest French festival – Le Festival – promises a weekend of food, wine and French culture like no other.

Friday French Drinks
The 2017 festival will include a massive opening night party with performances by live bands including Baby et Lulu as well as New Caledonia’s Full Bordel.

La French Week
Following on from Le Festival, the 2017 inaugural La French Week will include a range of multi-arts and exciting cultural experiences inspired by authentic French tradition, including Paul Taylor's #Franglais comedy show, French cooking and art classes, exhibitions and the Bastille Day Gala Dinner.

ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival
(7 
– 9 July)

ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival is a music festival, open to secondary school concert bands, orchestras, choirs, and jazz bands worldwide. ASPIRE is a competition on a new level, attracting world renowned adjudicators from around the world and appealing to the best young musicians internationally.

The competition is held over three consecutive days (7-9 July) at world class venue Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in the South Bank precinct.

You can see public performances from the students here in South Bank at Le Festival. There will also be a Gala Finale Concert at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University on Sunday 9 July.

Regional Flavours (15 & 16 July)
Gather at The Hunting Club for the best meat and beer.

Take an urban safari to Regional Flavours’ pop-up bar, bistro and stage.

Opening early on Friday 14 July from 4 – 11pm (ideal for after work drinks), then 10am – 11pm on Saturday 15 and 10am – 8pm on Sunday 16 July, The Hunting Club is a bucket-list stop for all self-confessed carnivores!

The Hunting Club will be centrally located on South Bank Parklands’ Little Stanley Street Lawns. While you’re devouring the bubbly brews, moreish bites, and hearty meals within (prepared by chefs from local restaurant, The Charming Squire) you can also enjoy free demonstrations during the day on The Hunting Club’s stage, presented by MLA on Saturday and Sunday.

Queensland Music Festival (7 – 30 July)

Over three huge weeks from 7 – 30 July 2017 Queensland Music Festival will take over the state, bringing unforgettable music experiences to cities, regions and remote corners of Queensland.

Under Artistic Director Katie Noonan, the 2017 QMF program is as diverse as this great state – showcasing some of the most talented local, national and international musicians across 100 performances, including seven world premieres.

A number of performances, both free and paid, will be held in the South Bank precinct at venues including the South Bank Piazza, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and State Library of Queensland.
