Andrew Edlin Gallery, New Yorkuntil April 11, 2020 "Eugene Von Bruenchenhein: Drawings 1964-67" brings together a selection of Eugene Von Bruenchenhein's (1910-1983) drawings from the mid-1960s, a little-seen, yet vital piece of his peripatetic practice. These drawings elaborate on a host of aesthetic and conceptual concerns found in his more well-known work in painting, sculpture and photography. A selection is included in the gallery's booth presentation at the Independent Art Fair in New York thorugh March 8. The region’s vernacular manifests itself in assemblages and quilts, as well as sculptures, paintings, and drawings, executed from found or repurposed objects by largely self-taught artists who spent their careers excluded by the mainstream art world. Including works by Morris Hirshfield, Martín Ramírez, Bill Traylor, Mary T. Smith, Helen Rae and Renaldo Kuhler among others. Ricco/Maresca Gallery Barbier-Mueller Museum, GenevaBarbus Muller until September 27, 2020 The Barbier-Mueller Museum dedicates its new exhibition to the mysterious stone statues by the anonymous artist known as “Barbus Müller". The eleven works from the Barbier-Mueller collection are presented alongside two works from the Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne and five others from private collections. The exhibition is further enriched by a selection of works by Jean Dubuffet, who was an admirer of the earliest Barbus Müller works. A catalogue contextualises the works and reveals new insights about their origin. Musée Barbier-Mueller Project Ability, Glasgow, UKIan Bruin until April 9, 2020 In August 2019 Glasgow hosted the 16th World Conference for the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Development Disabilities. Project Ability was asked to coordinate a juried art exhibition to be on display during the conference. For this exhibition, judges from the Project Ability team have selected five of those artists, who all have a disability and live in Scotland.
