New Master of Information Technology (MITS) option is opening up for Semester 2 intake, 2017.

31 January, 2017

Students with an Information, Communication and Technology background (or equivalent) can now study 12 units across a two year period in the MITS, as opposed to the standard 16 units over two years. This is a more cost effective option for students that still provides them with the potential option of applying for post-study work rights via the Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) upon graduation and subject to regulations. All other course elements remain the same – CRICOS code, units, fees per unit and entry requirements.

The advantages of using StudyLink Connect.

31 January, 2017

UTAS has been using StudyLink Connect for over a year now, and internal analysis shows that applications lodged through this platform are managed more efficiently, resulting in faster application assessment, offer turnaround and COE generation. While a small number of courses (such as seafaring) are processed outside StudyLink Connect, most courses are StudyLink Connect enabled, and soon all courses will be on the platform. The current offer turnaround time for those applications that have full documentation provided and do not require a faculty decision is approximately four working days – so for faster service, we strongly recommend you use StudyLink Connect rather than emails. If you have any questions or are having problems using or logging on to Studylink Connect click the button below or contact your regional or country manager.

Students will start moving into UTAS’s new Hobart apartments within weeks, bringing life to the CBD and boosting local business. Stage one of the university’s $65 million residence will become home to hundreds of students from February 18. Note that as this development was funded from a low-income accommodation scheme students will need to demonstrate they (not their parents) fall under certain income thresholds by signing a statutory declaration.
