Wake up to a campaign with a difference

A sponsored sleeping-bag race? A pyjama mini marathon and a midnight feast in a onesie? If you thought this was just any old sleepover – time to think again.

This month, we’re really excited to launch our new campaign: The National Brain Appeal Pyjama Party. We’ll be asking you to put the fun back into fundraising by hosting your own pyjama-related event in your homes, schools, workplaces and communities. It’s all for an amazing cause: the new, state-of-the-art operating theatres at The National and we need to raise £2 million.

Let your imagination run wild, dream up your own fundraiser and click here to get involved.

Thanks to Hannah and her friends for the fabulous photo (above)!

To start us off, share your favourite bedtime story @brainappeal #pyjamaparty #bedtimestory

Snap up a running spot

If the up-coming Olympics have inspired you, we only have a few places left for our autumn half-marathon events and we’d love you to run for us. The Royal Parks on Sunday 7th October is a scenic route through the beautiful London green spaces or if music is more your thing, why not Run to the Beat on 21st Sunday October?

If you think you can raise at least £400 for The National Brain Appeal and want to register, email Talullah.

Services transfer to Queen Square

In June, the services treating emergency, acute and intra-cranial neurosurgery patients relocated from the Royal Free London to The National at Queen Square. In a move that centralises all services in one single site, Queen Square is now the largest single-site neurosurgery centre in the UK and offers patients highly specialised treatment and care. Read more about the move by clicking here.

One new space and two new faces

The National Brain Appeal office has relocated and those of you who have ever visited the office will be delighted to know that there is now one less flight of stairs to climb to reach us!

We wish the best to our Fundraising Assistant, Glen Pickard who left in May and we are very happy to welcome Tallulah Lawson-Cresswell and Nicola Hewitt who join the The National Brain Appeal team.

If you need to get in touch, please go to our Contact Us page.
