Good Day Everyone,

I’m sending this letter out today because, well, I am ready to pass on the store.

As some of you may know I am involved with a few businesses in town and am also caring for a young family. The time has come for me to move on, but I’m not ready to stop having sprout in my life as a customer. Would you like to own Sprout?

Here’s what I’m doing. I will sell to anyone that will purchase SPROUT GROCERY at COST.

You pay for the Inventory and Equipment and everything that comes with the store is YOURS.

  • Inventory
  • Equipment
  • Software (POS is top notch for this industry and was purchased in 2012, provider makes constant updates with the maintenance of our contract $151/month.)
  • Security
  • Supplier Connections (with over 7 years of positive relationships = discounts)
  • All Social Media (1000+Facebook Subscribers, 350+Email Subscribers).
  • Website (yearly contract for provider).
  • Email
  • I will train you to the best of my ability in the operations of your new business and get you up and running.

Typically businesses are sold for the cost of the equipment and inventory plus a large amount of good will (up to 3 times the net income in one year). I'm forgoing the good will.

This is the opportunity for a keen health-minded business person to open a store for the cost of opening it from scratch, but with training and all the benefits of years of operation. Keep the name, create a new oneā€¦ use your imagination. Maybe you can take Kimberley’s health food store to the next level. Heck, you may not even need to keep it in Kimberley.

In an effort to be completely transparent, I would also like interested parties to know the following:

  • They will need to find a new location. (I don’t believe this is a downfall, as this could help the new owner pay lower rates on rental space).
  • Assume existing contracts. (Cost details will be outlined to serious candidates. No need to worry, no outrageous unpredictable numbers here folks).
  • Cover any legal, transfer, or tax fees that may come up during the transfer.

This could be a great opportunity for:

  • A person looking for a career change.
  • A group of people looking to start a cooperative.
  • An existing business looking to rid themselves of competition.
  • Someone looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity at a very low price, without having to do all the leg work themselves.

Equipment Approximately $23,000
Inventory (at wholesale cost) Approximately $50,000-$75,000

The cost will be in the neighbourhood of $73,000 - $98,000

(It cost me over $70,000 when I opened in 2007 at our 82 Wallinger Avenue Location)

It took me months of planning and research to set up and open sprout..  It also took me years to establish this store in the community. Although we’ve had our hiccups I do believe that the store has its place but it will take the right person to nurture it and give it a fresh new start. If you think you might be that person email me, Nicole, at nicole@sproutgrocery.com

My wonderful employees working at sprout don’t know very much about the details of this, so please do speak to me directly if you have any questions. I only have one store to sell, so first come, first serve.

In the spirit of growth, I hope to find the person this is meant to come to, so please share with your entrepreneurial friends.

Much Love and Gratitude for all of you,

-Nicole
