We have lots of news for you this October! No images? Click here ![]() ![]() The National Hospital: a world leaderQueen Square has been hitting the headlines recently! The National Brain Appeal has also been in the news with the IPI-GLIO Immunotherapy trial we are funding. Sadly, Tom Parker, former member of the band The Wanted, was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma, and has been helping to raise awareness of the trial. It's hoped this research will find new ways to treat this devastating form of brain cancer, a vital step towards finding a cure. Queen Square neurologist Dr Mike Zandi has been in a number of newspapers talking about 'Long Covid' and its neurological impact, and also appeared on the BBC News. As a result of this research, we are now funding a Covid-19, Infection and Autoimmune service. We enabled this crucial new service to quickly be established and are providing £65,000 to fund the consultant-led clinic to support patients with symptoms including headache, ‘brain fog’, muscle pain and fatigue. It sees patients who have also been very ill in intensive care and need follow up looking for any long term consequences of the virus. You can read more about this in our latest issue of The National (see final story, below). ![]() A Letter in Mind: save the dateThis year's response to A Letter in Mind: ‘Everyday Things' has been incredible!
