5th Round of Small Grants Programme announced

On Saturday 2 September, the Scottish Government announced the latest funding round of their International Development Small Grants Programme. This award is welcomed by all of us in the international development sector across Scotland.

Jane Salmonson,  our Chief Executive, said: "Grants available to smaller organisations make an incredible difference to organisations here in Scotland who deserve this extra boost for their projects that improve the lives and life chances of people facing hardship and lack of opportunity overseas."

This year Scotland is celebrating its second national climate week from 18-22 September.The purpose of the week is to raise awareness of, and inspire action on climate change. Contributions and engagement from the international development sector are important.

Mamie Martin Fund to manage new scholarships

In August, the Scottish Government announced £50,000 of scholarships to support female students to access education in Malawi. Routed through the Mamie Martin Fund, It will support 23 girls to go to secondary school and two women to attend university in Malawi.
