Dr. Stephanie Stepp’s lab in the Department of Psychiatry is hiring up to 4 undergraduate research assistants/data processors for paid summer positions supporting NIH-funded research studies. Responsibilities may include data processing, data entry, quality control, participant support tasks, and other general research activities.

This is a great opportunity for students interested in gaining research experience before applying to graduate school or pursuing careers in psychology, psychiatry, medicine, or related fields. Preference will be given to students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and some prior research experience. Strong students may also have the opportunity to continue beyond the summer.

The Michigan Neurogenetics and Developmental Psychopathology (MiND) lab, directed by Dr. Luke Hyde, and the Translational and Developmental Neuroscience (TaD) lab, directed by Christopher Monk, are searching for a lab manager/research assistant (Research Technician Associate) for the SAND Project that examines the development of young adult risk and resilience from multiple levels of analysis (using fMRI, molecular genetics, longitudinal approaches, and psychiatric interviews with young adults from disadvantaged contexts).

We are looking for a full-time research assistant to work on a project examining the neural and psychological causes of problems with motivation in individuals with psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. This work is being conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Deanna Barch at Washington University in St. Louis. The person will: 1) have responsibility for testing and scanning participants using task-based functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and behavioral/cognitive/computerized testing; 2) help with preprocessing and quality control of imaging and behavioral data; and 3) work with a team of other research assistants to assess a large sample of individuals with task and resting state fMRI and behavioral data as part of the project.  We are looking with individuals who have: i) good research experience, ii) will be comfortable working with individuals who have serious mental illness, iii) strong problem-solving skills, iv) good attention to detail, v) the ability to work both independently and part of a team, and vi) strong comfort with computers. This is an excellent position for someone considering graduate school in psychology or neuroscience in the future, with opportunities to be involved in data analysis.  The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Psychological & Brain Sciences, Neuroscience, or a related field.  We are looking for someone who can start between March and June of 2026, and are happy to consider candidates graduating from college after the Spring Semester of 2026 who could start work full-time after graduation.
