Baba Marta
On March 1, and throughout the whole month, Baba Marta is celebrated by Bulgarians. She is a mythical figure, who puts an end to the cold winter and brings with her the beginning of spring. We exchange martenitsi wishing everyone around us health and happiness!
Our students and teachers decorated two of the trees in front of the school with martinitsi and the colors red and white!
Martenitsa Charity Sale
The charity sale of martenitsi in support of a mental health center near Veliko Tarnovo was running during the whole week. We thank Ms. Mariya Gosheva for the great initiative, all students who spent their time selling martenitsi, and everyone who contributed. Charity initiatives seem to be on the rise this year, and we hope that we managed to help this cause, too!
Spelling Bee In-Class Round
The In-Class Round of the annual Spelling Bee competition is over. Finalists will be announced next week.
Ski Week
The AEA Ski School is taking place next week. Parents of students who will participate have received instructions via e-mail and we hope that everyone will enjoy sliding down the slopes and having fun in the snow!
Students who are staying at AEA next week will be engaged in project-based learning from Tuesday to Friday, as Monday is a no-school day following Bulgaria's National Holiday - March 3. No new material will be introduced that week.
