Thank you to all those parents and Parish family members who were able to join us. We have many leaders in our school in various roles and I was pleased to have been able to invite the Executive of both the School Board and the OLG Parents and Friends to join with the staff leaders, the Administration Team and our Year 6 Student Leaders to be commissioned. We will share this event and our wonderful start to the school year with the wider Parish community through an insert into the Credo – look out for this at Mass this weekend. We will make this a regular occurrence as we strengthen our Parish/School links. Our Year 6 student leaders spent time at their Leadership Camp selecting and identifying which Ministry Team they were going to serve in. Each Ministry has elected leaders who will lead the group and work with a Mentor Teacher, I am grateful for those teachers who will be giving up their time to work with each Ministry. I thank also Mrs Hardwicke, Mrs Elliot, Mrs Gerber, Mrs Magee, Mrs Lipscombe and Miss Campbell as well as our two intrepid Dads Mr Hamilton and Mr D’Agostino who accompanied our students on camp. The final piece of the leadership puzzle are the roles of Head Boy and Head Girl. They were filled after students delivered speeches to their peers outlining their abilities and goals for the role. I congratulate all those students who nominated for these positions and welcome Oskar Tindall and Olivia Todd to the roles of Head Boy and Head Girl. This Wednesday 20th we will gather at the Parent Information Evening. We’ll be starting in the Multipurpose Hall at 5.45pm promptly and then at 6.00pm there will be a 30 minute classroom meeting. The classroom meeting will be repeated at 6.35pm for those parents who need to attend more than one class. Being connected and aware of your child’s teachers is important in the success of your child. I look forward to seeing parents, grandparents and carers of all children as we start this journey. Finally, you may notice some very stylish aluminium benches in our school and I would like to thank the Parents and Friends of OLG for their generous purchase of these benches. They are far more comfortable and safe than our previous benches, which have all been repurposed throughout the community! Win Win. God Bless Kerem Camp - Our Lady of Grace Year 6 Students
