Porsche Aplenty

It's been a busy start to the year for Autohaus Hamilton. We've conquered The Mountain, finished our preparations for a fresh season of Carrera Cup in the brand new Type 991 911 GT3 Cup, been hard at work on a collection of exciting Porsche projects, and enjoyed two months of working on Porsches and making Porsche ownership the rewarding experience it should be.

And we’re stepping it up a notch this weekend, doubling up on Porsche Motorsport as the Autohaus Hamilton motorsport team ships out to Adelaide for the opening round of the 2014 Carrera Cup season and Jeff David heads to the National Capital Rally with co-driver Glenn MacNeall.

We wish the boys all the best for their respective weekends! Stay tuned to our Facebook page and website and we'll keep you up to date with their progress over the weekend and next week.

In the meantime, enjoy this month's newsletter, in which we get to know a lovely and original '67 911 Targa Soft Window, tame The Mountain with Shane Smollen, take a sneak peek at Autohaus Hamilton Sales' new Cayman, with parts and more.

Perfect in Patina: Reinvigorating a Barn Find 1967 911 Targa Soft Window

Not every classic that passes through the Autohaus Hamilton garage is destined for a full bare metal restoration, and that’s a very good thing.

This lovely original 1967 911 Targa Soft Window arrived in our garage late in 2013 with a simple set of instructions – give it a full inspection, and get it running.

The first steps of its journey have been taken, and it's at an interesting point in its journey.

Autohaus Hamilton Parts

There’ll Be Some Changes Made!

Autohaus Hamilton is now the Australian distributor for Numeric Racing shifter components for Boxster, Cayman and 996/997 series 911 cars.

Numeric Racing shifter cables are thicker, stronger and capable of more precise adjustment than factory fit cables, and make an excellent starting point to upgrading your car’s shifting.  We carry cables for 986 Boxster S, all 987 Boxster and Cayman

Numeric Racing shifter cables will work with factory shifters, but to transform your car’s shifting, add a Numeric Racing shifter.  It’s a shame to hide such a work of engineering art out of sight, but it fits beneath the factory console.  As well as looking good, this shifter gives you three levels of adjustment.

Finally, if you have a stripped out cabin, and have done away with the centre console, there are risers for the shifter mechanism to bring the shift lever up, closer to the wheel.

If your Porsche has visited Autohaus Hamilton over the last 18 months or so, chances are you’ll have met Mel.  It was Mel who washed and polished every Porsche that came through the workshop.  Since the start of February she has taken on a new challenge, and is now working in our Parts Division as a sales and administration officer.  We all wish her every success in her new role.

For these and other parts for your Porsche, contact James on 9905 0096 or via parts@autohaushamilton.com.au

The response to our previous newsletter about upcoming Burrows Drive Days has been extremely positive, with an impressive group from the Autohaus family heading out to enjoy the first Burrows day of the year this week.

We're going to be doing a lot more with our Porsches this year, but we don't want to bother you with every track day, Porsche Adventure or cruise if you're not interested, so we've created a separate newsletter for events and track days.

This newsletter will include information about upcoming events, as well as the nitty gtitty details that you'll need to have if you're planning on coming along.

If you'd like to hear about upcoming events, drive days and track days, let us know by signing up to our 'Events' newsletter by hitting the following link, and we'll keep you up to date with all the Porsche action we can pack in to our weekends.
