Scientia Professor Michael Barton will be stepping down as the Director of the Cancer CAG in mid-2021. Expressions of interest are sought for the role. The appointed Director will lead preparation of a Cancer Institute NSW grant application that will form the basis of the next 5 years of activity.

Farewell Dr Tanya Ward

Farewell to Dr Tanya Ward, who is preparing to leave her role of Executive Officer for the UNSW Faculty of Medicine Cancer Theme and SPHERE Cancer Clinical Academic Group to take up a new opportunity. On behalf of the Faculty of Medicine and the SPHERE Cancer Clinical Academic Group, we would like to thank Tanya for the significant contributions she has made to both organisations, as well as to the broader community, during her time in this role. We wish her all the very best for the future.

The intended aims of the EOLC TCR are to identify best practice approaches to end of life care that are meaningful for patients, families and carers and coordinated within, and sustainable for, the health system.

Cancer Research Institute Clinic and Laboratory Integration Program 

The CRI Clinic and Laboratory Integration Program (CLIP) Grants is open to qualified scientists who are working to explore clinically relevant questions aimed at improving the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapies. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full research proposal by 15 February 2020.

Active Learning Module - Cancer Shared Care

Join us for an interactive virtual Active Learning Module in Cancer Shared Care hosted by the Translational Cancer Research Network (TCRN) and the Centre for Oncology Research and Education (CONCERT). TCRN

The Translational Cancer Research Network (TCRN) is a translational cancer research centre program funded by the Cancer Institute NSW and is a collaborative and interactive cancer research community based in the South East of Sydney, with links to cancer services and researchers in inner and southern Sydney, and Albury. It was formed to create an innovative and supportive environment for the translation of cancer research into improvements in patient care.

CONCERT

The Centre for Oncology Education, Research and Training (CONCERT) is a translational research centre program funded by the Cancer Insitute NSW. CONCERT exists to bring together the knowledge and expertise of cancer health professionals and researchers to facilitate translation of research generated evidence into practice to achieve better outcomes for those affected by cancer.

Cancer CAG

The Cancer Clinical Academic Group (Cancer CAG) brings together clinicians and researchers from three universities, four cancer services (with six major treatment facilities) and three Medical Research Institutes. Our combined research strength spans the translational medicine spectrum of bench to bedside and health service delivery.

Working with TCRC partners, our network extends to all of the organisations below.
