Covid-19: PWI AnnouncementThe PWI Executive Board have issued a response to the Covid-19 outbreak, aiming to help our community stay safe and engaged during these uncertain times. We have been carefully monitoring the UK Government's response to the current Covid-19 virus outbreak. Following the recent call for a significant reduction in public contact, CEO Stephen Barber has announced our own community response. 1) The upcoming Scotland Technical Seminar has been postponed from 28 April to 1 October in Glasgow. You can book your space online here. 2) The upcoming London Technical Seminar on 20 May has also been postponed and we will announce a new date as soon as possible. 3) We have encouraged our Sections to host online activities instead of physical meetings. We have sourced a web meeting software license to facilitate this and will soon announce a series of online talks and meetings that you may wish to attend. Advice on how to use this software as a participant can be found here. 4) We would like to encourage all members of our community to take the government's advice on staying at home. We also recommend this advice on working from home by Free Agent; on looking after your mental health by Mentalhealth.org; and how to achieve physical exercise by the BBC. We will issue another update next week with regards to upcoming training courses and virtual section meetings. Finally, we would like to wish everyone the best of health and we hope that you are all managing to stay safe during this time. |
