LDN Farringdon

New Release #1:
LDN FARRINGDON

LDN Farringdon emerged from the ashes of a custom font project that was abandoned at an early stage. It was designed by Paul Hickson who was influenced by the clean sharp lines of Bodoni & Walbaum but also wanted to introduce a degree of softness into the letterforms.

The end result is an elegant type family in two weights with matching italics, a distinctive hybrid style that merges contemporary and classical features to stunning effect. Paul also decided to create a set of initial swash caps echoing the steel cut engraving of the 18th & 19th centuries. This seems to be developing into a theme (some might say obsession) with us!

New Release #2:
LDN CLERKENWELL SCRIPT

Having drawn his quite unusual Bow Script (inspired by an epitaph to Milton on Bow church) Paul Harpin finally felt up to the task of designing a traditional English Roundhand. He was keen to have as many optional flourished glyphs as he could muster and at the last minute decided to add a bold version too.

LDN Clerkenwell Script contains a wealth of swashed style options and projects a wonderfully formal elegance wherever it’s used.

New Release #3:
LDN CABLE STREET

A stylish inline display sans named after the ancient London street where rope cables for sailing ships on the nearby River Thames were woven.

Paul Harpin’s all caps typeface contains no overshoots on the rounded characters to enable seamless interlocking of the glyphs when any of the 8 additional style sets are activated. Get LDN Cable Street for half price with code Nov23 until 30.11.23.

Fonts In Use:
LDN MAMMOTH WOODBLOCK & NIOF 2023

LDN Mammoth Woodblock was deployed to great effect in the design of the identity for the Norfolk Into Opera Festival 2023. This eleven day festival needed numerous assets for posters, social media, leaflets, banners, programmes etc.

The Woodblock version of LDN Mammoth dispenses with overshoots on rounded characters so that each glyph has a matching cap height and baseline position, perfect for stacking caps.
