Wide Open Arts, the producer of New York’s 21-year-old Outsider Art Fair, is pleased to announce the inaugural edition of the fair in Paris this coming fall. OAF Paris will take place from October 24–27, 2013, at Hotel Le A, a 26-room boutique hotel one kilometer away from the Grand Palais, which will be concurrently hosting FIAC, France’s premier contemporary art fair.

The history of Art Brut in France is rich, from the genesis of Jean Dubuffet’s collection, to groundbreaking exhibitions at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, LaM (Lille Métropole, musée d’art modern), Halle Saint Pierre, Fondation Cartier, La maison rouge, Palais de Tokyo, and most recently, The Museum of Everything whose show at the Chalet Society drew 65,000 visitors. The world-renowned collection abcd, which has produced exhibitions in New York, Tokyo, Prague, Istanbul and many other art destinations, has been based in Paris since its inception in 1999.

Wide Open Arts is pleased to present a select group of internationally renowned galleries, and offer visitors the opportunity to see artworks by the most iconic self-taught artists like Henry Darger, Martin Ramirez, Bill Traylor, Adolf Wölfli, Aloïse Corbaz, Judith Scott, Louis Soutter, James Castle, Joseph Yoakum, Anna Zemankova, Carlo Zinelli and Eugene Von Bruenchenhein, together with drawings by the likes of George Widener, Dan Miller, Guo Fengyi, Charles Steffen and other more recently discovered outsiders.
