3. Levels of resistance remain high in bacteria causing foodborne infections

A report released by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) outlines that a substantial amount of Salmonella and Campylobacter bacteria is still resistant to antibiotics commonly used in humans and animals.

4. Delay on EU food checks pose challenges - FSA

According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), there has been no increase in the risk to food safety following the UK leaving the European Union. They have seen no evidence to suggest there is more of a risk from food crime or food fraud.
