Did someone say Christmas?!

Our new range of Christmas cards are on sale now
OK, we know it's still October, but we couldn't help but share our new range of eight card designs. We think they look great!

From a London-scene snow globe and festive reindeer to Mary and Jesus, holly gathering, decorating the tree and a comical Santa... we have cards to suit every taste.

We realise how fortunate we are to have so many loyal supporters who come back year after year for their Christmas cards. However, this also means the top picks will sell out quickly! If you have a favourite, order yours soon.

Last date to order for guaranteed Christmas delivery is Monday 11 December.

Creative minds

Our recent art fundraiser, A Letter in Mind: A Sense of Place was a great success. With more than 350 pieces on sale anonymously, it was our biggest show to date and we had fantastic feedback from those that visited the exhibition.

"Wonderful exhibition − and a fantastic idea. I used to run art classes for people with mental health issues and something similar would have been a great platform for exhibiting their work" Emily Spruce

To date, we have sold 164 artworks, which is amazing − so this means there are still 186 fabulous works for sale − and one is just waiting to be hung on your wall! We also have online galleries of our previous years' shows, with many incredible pieces still available to buy. So go online and treat yourself to some amazing art for a great cause. You won't be disappointed.

Old pound coin appeal

The government has estimated that £1.3bn is lying in coin jars in the UK, and a third of these are pound coins. But with the introduction of the new 12-sided pound coin earlier this year, the round pound is no longer legal tender in the UK.

We're asking you to donate those old pounds to us. So wherever your pound coins are hiding − down the back of the sofa, in trouser pockets or piggy banks − dig them out and send them to The National Brain Appeal. You can simply tape them to a piece of card and pop them into an envelope to us with your details, or contact us to ask for a pop up money box − and start a collection in your workplace, school or around your local community. Every pound counts!

Pyjama Party month

We always need people like you to help raise money for the one in six people affected by a neurological condition. This month, we're asking you to fundraise in your PJs as part of Pyjama Party month!

You could do a fun run or walk, host a bake sale in your nightwear, encourage your child's school to hold a dress down Pyjama Day, do your daily commute in a onesie... the possibilities are endless − you just need to ask for a donation in return!

Register today and get a fundraising kit bursting with ideas to help plan your event, plus a FREE Pyjama Party nightcap.

Don't forget, if you can't squeeze your event in to October, don't panic − you can have a Pyjama Party any time of the year. We can't wait to see what you have planned!

A gift of hope

Around three-quarters of British people regularly give to charity, but only 6% remember a charity in their Will. Yet legacies are a vital source of funds for us − often making up a third of our annual income.

On 7 November, we are holding our next Legacy Event in Queen Square from 4.30-5.30pm. We'll have short talks from a National Hospital clinician on the huge impact of legacy donations to the hospital, plus a solicitor will give you valuable tips when it comes to drafting your Will.

Our event is open to everyone − please email brookeparsons@nhs.net to register your interest and get the full event details.
