Fabricate is the official student newsletter at the Melbourne School of Design. You are receiving this email as a current student or staff member of the Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning. The cover image is of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the last and most costly of the Grands Projets of François Mitterrand. Designed by Dominique Perrault in 1989, it consists of four 25-story L-shaped towers representing open books, arranged at the corners of a giant platform around a sunken forest.

Festive Season Safety Reminder

With the end of exams and arrival of the festive season, staff and students are reminded not to take any unnecessary risks with their safety, especially after hours.  While the University remains a safe environment, there are risks with living and working in an inner city location.

Campus Security recommends staff and students:

  • use the security escort service after hours rather alone to car parks, public transport and housing,
  • ring the security emergency number (8344 6666) if they have any concerns for their safety around campus,
  • know the locations of emergency help phones,
  • never walk alone at night and, where possible, walk or travel with friends,
  • drink in moderation, have a designated driver or catch a taxi.

It attempts to contextualise the selected Asian city markets and proposes a theoretical construct to international real estate. It will review property market activity and the institutional frameworks that govern real estate production in those markets studied.
