Home Affordability

We are developing profiles that explain the challenges of buying or renting a home in Kootenai County. We recognize this is an issue affecting most income levels and would like to hear from our community.

How have rising home costs affected you or your business? Email us at Your testimony may be used semi-anonymously in future affordable community conversations.

The Regional Housing & Growth Issues Partnership is requesting your input on community priorities. Take the 3 question survey before May 5 and share it broadly!

Want to better understand the growth issues facing our area? Kootenai Metro Planning Organization (KMPO) has a great page of FAQs that also lists other local resources to answer questions specific to your city.

Our Gem Survey & NAS Lake Study

Take the 12 question Our Gem Coeur d'Alene Lake: HERE!

The Our Gem Coeur d’Alene Lake Collaborative is conducting this survey to assess how to better provide citizens with resources and information about Coeur d’Alene Lake. Your responses will help inform organizations and agencies in the collaborative about Coeur d’ Alene Lake issues you believe are important. Your feedback will be incorporated in the development of strategic communications throughout the community. Please share it widely.

Next week, three public meetings for the National Academies of Sciences (NAS) Coeur d’Alene Lake data review will be held via Zoom. Presentations on topics will include a watershed nutrient inventory, in-lake processes, climate change and forest fire impacts in the region, and open mic sessions.

Early Care & Education

How does CDA 2030 serve the community? This is a great example of how we create community connections...

The United Way of North Idaho recently received $50,000 from Community Development Block Grants in child care scholarships through The City of Coeur d'Alene. Community members can apply for a scholarship HERE

How were we involved? Our board has selected, Affordable Childcare (Implementation Action C&I 3.3), to focus our efforts on in 2021. Our Executive Director serves on the Early Care and Education Task Force. Through her service, she has been educated on the childcare needs of our community. She also serves on the Community Development Block Grant Committee. When it came time to award grants CDA 2030 was able to inform the committee of the strong community need for early care and education support.

To learn more about the community need for quality childcare see our most recent post and visit The United Way of North Idaho's website.
