Apply (or Encourage a Colleague to Apply) to Be a Participant at the National Summit on the Future of Residency Training
In early 2020, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) announced an upcoming major revision to the family medicine residency requirements. The family medicine organizations, including STFM, are collaborating to conduct a National Summit on the Future of Residency Training to inform the initial draft of the major revision. In parallel, the ACGME Review Committee for Family Medicine will conduct a future forecasting exercise. Nominations from individuals and organizations are being
accepted for both the Summit and the forecasting. The organizers are looking for diverse stakeholders, including practicing clinicians, behaviorists, pharmacists, residency directors, residency faculty, residents, students, major employers, designated institutional officials, and the public.
STFM Endorses AAMC Statement Condemning Police Brutality and Racism's Impact on Health in America
STFM signed on as a supporter of the Association of American Medical Colleges' statement entitled Police Brutality and Racism in American and Their Impact on Health. This follows the recently released letter on social justice from STFM President Tricia Elliott, MD. STFM's policy against discrimination, which was approved by the Board of Directors in late 2018, can be found within the new section on the STFM website about anti-racism and health equity.
STFM Announces New Podcast Series on Racial Justice
Next week, a new STFM podcast series will be published featuring STFM President Tricia Elliott, MD. The podcast series will feature social justice issues, specifically racism and health equity in family medicine.

Christine Arenson, MD, Named Chair of New Health Systems Initiative
